Christmas lights are beautiful, that is when you don't have to see them through the windshield while battling traffic. The December 1 launch of the Honolulu City Lights also marks the beginning of the the Holiday Lights trolley rides, so you can celebrate the season in the passenger seat.
Waikiki Trolley Double Decker Bus
Departs From: Ward Centre in front of zPizza
Dates: December 2 - 30
Time: Beginning at 6 p.m. nightly
Tickets: $10, children under 3 free
Route: 40 minute ride through downtown Honolulu.
If you want on and off privileges, the open air trolley takes you from DFS Galleria in Waikiki to the lights and back for $23.
McCully Shopping Center Holiday Trolley
Departs From: McCully Shopping Center
Dates: Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting December 10 until Christmas.
Times: Runs every 45 minutes from 6 - 9 p.m.
Tickets: Free. This is first come, first serve starting at 5:30 p.m. the night of the ride fronting the elevators. Passengers must be present to receive a ticket.
Route: 30-45 minutes through downtown Honolulu.
Ward Centers Honolulu City Lights Trolley Tours
Departs From: Ward Warehouse Driveway
Dates: December 2-30
Times: First trolley leaves at 6:30 p.m. nightly until 8:10 p.m. Sunday-Wednesday, 8:50 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Tickets: $6, children 3 and under are free but must sit with an adult. Purchase at the Hawaii Foodbank ticket counter near Paina Cafe.
Tours: 30 minutes through downtown Honolulu.
Navy Honolulu City Lights Trolley Tour
Departs From: ITT Hickam and Bloch Arena at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam
Dates: December 9-23. Bloch Arena rides are on select dates.
Times: 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
Tickets: $15, free for 3 years and under. Buy tickets at any ITT Office
