Holiday Parades in Honolulu, Hawaii

 

Everyone loves a parade and if your family agrees, December is the month for you. Almost every weekend a free parade will march down the street in some Oahu neighborhood.  Here is a full round up.  Note: participants are estimations given to the City and County of Honolulu.

Friday, November 23

Liliha/Palama Christmas Parade - 5:30-7 p.m.
100 marchers and 10 vehicles.
The Route: Starts at the United Church of Christ to Judd Street, Liliha Street, N. King Street and ends at Kohou Street.

Kalihi Business Association Christmas Parade - 5:45-8 p.m.
100+ marchers, 15 vehicles, 2 floats and 3 bands.
The Route: Starts at Kalihi Union Church to N. King Street, Mokauea Street, Dillingham Boulevard, Waiakamilo Road, Houghtailing Street, N. School Street and ends at Kamehameha Shopping Center.

Waikiki Holiday Parade - 7-9 p.m.
4,000 marchers, 40 vehicles and 38 bands.
The Route: Starts at Saratoga Road/Kalakaua Avenue to Monsarrat Avenue and ends at Queen Kapiolani Park.
 

Saturday, November 24

Hawaii Kai Xmas Parade - 10-11:30 a.m.
1,000 marchers, 25 vehicles, 3 bands.
The Route: Starts at Kamiloiki Park to Lunalilo Home Road and ends at Koko Marina Shopping Center.

 

Saturday, December 1

Mililani Christmas Parade - 9 -10:30 a.m.
1,500 marchers, 30 vehicles, 10 floats, 2 bands.
The Route: Starts at Mililani High School Stadium on Kipapa Drive, goes past the Mililani Shopping Center, on to Kuahelani Avenue, Meheula Parkway, and ends at the Town Center of Mililani.

Kaneohe Christmas Parade - 9-11 a.m.
1,800 marchers, 25 vehicles, 16 floats and 8 bands.
The Route: Starts at Windward Mall down Haiku Road to Kamehameha Highway, on Kaneohe Bay Drive and ends at Castle High School.

Mayor's Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and Parade - 6-8 p.m.
2,000 marchers, 40 vehicles, 15 floats and 15 bands.
The Route: Starts at Aala Park and goes kokohead down King Street and ends between Punchbowl and South streets. This kicks off the Honolulu City Lights at Honolulu Hale.


Sunday, December 2

Pearl City Shopping Center Christmas Parade - 2-6 p.m.
2,000 marchers, 30 vehicles and 10 floats.
The Route: Starts at Momilani Elementary School down Hookiekie Street to Hoomoana Street, Hoolaulea Street and ends at Pearl City Shopping Center.


Thursday, December 6

Kaimuki Christmas Parade - 6-8 p.m.
1,500 marchers and 40 vehicles.
The Route: Starts at St. Louis High School/Chaminade University down the mauka-bound lanes of Waialae Avenue, to Koko Head Avenue and ends at the Municipal Parking Lot.

 

Thursday, December 7

Pearl Harbor Memorial Anniversary Parade - 6-8:30 p.m.
2,000 marchers, 40 vehicles, 8 floats and 10 bands.
The Route: Starts at Ft. DeRussy to Kalakaua Avenue and ends at Kapiolani Park.

Wahiawa Town Xmas Parade - 6:30-8:30 p.m.
300 marchers, 10 vehicles and 2 floats.
The Route: Starts at Kaala Elementary School down to California Avenue, North Cane Street and ends at Center Street.

 

Friday, December 8

Aiea Community Association Christmas Parade-8:30 a.m. - noon
200 marchers, 10 vehicles and 2 bands.
The Route: Starts at the Pearlridge Elementary School to Moanalua Road, Kaamilo Street, Ulune, Halewiliko Street and ends at the Aiea Sugar Mill site.

Waimanalo Christmas Parade - 9-11 a.m.
120 marchers, 4 vehicles, 4 floats and 2 bands.
The Route: Starts at Waimanalo District Park down to Hihimanu Street to Kumuhau Street, Humuniki Street, Kalanianaole Highway and ends on Waimanalo Beach Park.

Gentry Waipio Community Association Christmas Parade-10-11:30 a.m.
800 marchers, 13 vehicles and 1 band.
The Route: Starts at Gentry Waipio Shopping Center to Waipio Uka Street, Ukee Street, Ka Uka Boulevard, Waipio Uka Street, and ends back at the Shopping Center.

Waipahu Christmas Parade - 2-4 p.m.
10 vehicles and other marchers.
The Route: Starts at Waipahu District Park down Paiwa Street to Farrington Highway, Pupukahi Street, Waipahu Street, Leoku Street and ends behind Waipahu Town Center.

Manoa Community Christmas Parade - 5-7 p.m.
800 marchers, 15 vehicles, 2 floats and 4 bands.
The Route: Starts at Noelani School to Woodlawn Drive, Kolowalu Street, East Manoa Road, Lowrey Avenue, Manoa Road and ends at Manoa Park.

West Oahu Holiday Electric Light Parade - 6-8 p.m.
25 vehicles, 3 floats and 4 bands.
The Route: Kapolei Fairgrounds at Kealanani Avenue down to Farrington Highway, Kamokila Boulevard, Uluohia Street and finishes with the lighting ceremony at Kapolei Hale.

 

Wednesday, December 12

Channukah Caravan - 6-7 p.m.
30+ vehicles.
The Route: Starts at Kaimuki High School to Kapiolani Boulevard, South/Alapai Street, S. Beretania Street, Bishop Street, Ala Moana Boulevard, Kalakaua Avenue, Kapahulu Avenue, Kuhio Avenue and ends at King Kalakaua Park.

 

Thursday, December 13

Kapahulu Moiliili Christmas Parade - 6:30-8 p.m.
250 marchers and 5-8 vehicles.
The Route: Kuhio Elementary School to King Street, Beretania Street, Isenberg Street and ends at Old Stadium Park.

 

Friday, December 14

Haleiwa Christmas Parade - 6-8 p.m.
500 marchers, 45 vehicles, 4 floats and 4 bands.
The Route: Starts at Weed Circle down to Kamehameha Highway, through Haleiwa Town and ends at Haleiwa Beach Park

 

Saturday, December 15

Waianae Coast Christmas Parade - 10 a.m. - noon
1,000 marchers, 30 vehicles, 30 floats, 3 bands and 3 horse groups.
The Route: Starts at Waianae Boat Harbor down Farrington Highway to end at Waianae Mall.

Ewa Beach Lions Club Christmas Parade - 10 a.m. - noon
1,200 marchers, 80 vehicles, 12 floats and 2 bands.
The Route: Starts at Ilima Intermediate School Parking Lot down to Ft. Weaver Road, Kuhina Street, Hanakahi Street, North Road, Ft. Weaver Road and ends at Ilima Intermediate School.


Sunday, December 16

Moanalua Valley Christmas Caravan - 2-3:30 p.m.
At least 6 vehicles and other groups.
The Route: Starts at Moanalua Valley Neighborhood Park to Ala Aolani Street, Moanalua Valley near the Golf Course and ends at the park.

Olomana Christmas Parade - 2:30-3:30 p.m.
30+ marchers, 10 vehicles and 7 floats.
The Route: Maunawili Elementary School to Ulupii Street, Ulupuni Street to Uluohao Street, Uluhala Street, Ulupuni Street, Ulukou Street and ends back at the school.
