Perennial local favorite Kapena will be the first band featured during this year's "Wildest Show in Town" at the Honolulu Zoo.
The nine-week concert series kicks off Wednesday, June 13, with event organizer Roy Sakuma hosting the show. Along with the live entertainment, each week's concert will also feature an ukulele giveaway by different manufacturer's.
Gates at the Honolulu Zoo open at 4:35 p.m. for the "Wildest Show in Town," with music starting around 6 p.m. Admission is $3.00.
Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner to enjoy beforehand; zoo exhibits will also be open for exploring. In addition to the "Wildest Show" series, the Honolulu Zoo will host an evening of music by Hookena's Horace Dudoit, Chris Kamaka and Glen Smith on Saturday, August 11.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door; the concert will start at 6:00 p.m. The "Wildest Show in Town" is every Wednesday from June 13 through August 8 and will feature new performers each week. Follow the link for exact dates and performances.
